Valencia allocates 39 public housing units to local families

The Valencia City Council has allocated 39 newly constructed public protection housing units to residents facing difficulties accessing the private market. The properties are located in a building on Avenida de José Roca Coll in the Patraix district, which the council acquired through a land swap operation to expand its municipal public housing stock.

The selected beneficiaries are all under the age of 45 and have demonstrated long-term residency in Valencia, with over 90% having lived in the city for seven years or more. The recipients primarily consist of large families, single-parent households, individuals with disabilities, and victims of gender-based violence.

According to Juan Giner, the Councilor for Urbanism, Housing, and Licenses, the operation is designed for families who truly need assistance and are registered in the municipal affordable rental applicant registry. The households receiving these homes have an average of 5.26 members, and 95% of them have dependents.
