Valencia begins sanitation network renovation in Cabanyal-Canyamelar

The Valencia City Council has launched renovation and improvement works on the sanitation network of Ernesto Anastasio Street, located in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighborhood within the Poblats Marítims district. The project, managed by the Department of the Integral Water Cycle and executed by UTE Sanejament de València, has a budget of 151,167.29 euros.

The intervention aims to modernize underground hydraulic infrastructure to optimize water collection and strengthen the network's response to intense rainfall. Specifically, more than 120 meters of piping will be replaced with high-density polyethylene pipes measuring 400 and 500 millimeters in diameter. The project also includes the construction and adaptation of nine inspection wells and the installation of 18 storm drains.

These improvements are intended to increase surface drainage capacity and prevent subsurface incidents, providing a more efficient evacuation service for the approximately 19,429 residents in the area. Carlos Mundina, the Councilor for the Integral Water Cycle, stated that the work reinforces essential infrastructure and improves the city's capacity to respond to heavy rains. A specific traffic plan will be implemented to coordinate diversions and minimize disruptions, while ensuring continuous pedestrian access to local homes and businesses.
