Elche and Valencia face off in crucial La Liga relegation battle

Elche CF and Valencia CF are set to face each other at the Martínez Valero stadium in a key La Liga match. The encounter pits Elche, currently in 15th place with 10 points, against Valencia, who sits in 19th place with 6 points.

Elche enters the match in positive form, having gone five matches unbeaten across all competitions, including a recent 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano. However, the team has struggled at home this season, failing to secure a single win at the Martínez Valero. Elche manager Martín Anselmi noted that while his team has shown improvement, they are eager to secure their first home victory of the campaign.

Valencia, led by manager Javier Aguirre, is searching for their first league win since September. Aguirre has defended his team's progress despite their position in the relegation zone, stating that coaching changes do not provide “magic wands” for immediate results. Valencia's squad will see the return of Foulquier and Sadiq, though Copete, Otorbi, and Van Oevelen will be unavailable.

Historically, Elche has held an advantage in recent meetings at the Martínez Valero, while Valencia faces pressure to improve a goal-scoring record that has seen them score only seven goals in ten matches.
