Valencia Government Extends Victim Mobility Pact and Grants Flood Aid

The Generalitat of the Valencian Community has extended its cooperation agreement with the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) until 2030. The pact, originally signed in July 2022, provides a specific mechanism to move public‑sector employees who are victims of gender‑based violence to other posts, ensuring their protection under regional and state law. The extension carries no additional budgetary obligations and continues the framework set out in the region’s Equality Plan.

Separately, the Generalitat has approved 469 subsidies totalling €17.28 million for families of the 216 victims who died in the flooding caused by Storm Dana. Payments, managed by the Directorate General for Victims and Affected Persons under Decree 23/2026, can reach up to €80,000 per deceased victim for eligible relatives such as spouses, children, parents, grandparents or siblings. Commissioner Raúl Mérida said the aid “does not intend to compensate an irreparable damage but to provide economic support that helps families cope with the hardship.”
