Valencia grants 500,000 euros for sports facilities hit by DANA

The Generalitat Valenciana has granted a 500,000 euro subsidy to the Consorcio Esportshorta to support local sports development in municipalities affected by the DANA weather event. The funding, published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana, aims to promote recreational sports activities to support emotional well-being and psychosocial recovery for those impacted by the floods.

Additionally, the funds will be used to reinforce the maintenance of sports facilities and support equipment. Part of the ‘Endavant’ plan, the initiative focuses on improving the resilience of these installations against future flooding episodes. Planned actions include acquiring municipal sports equipment, organizing inter-municipal sporting events, and developing technical documents to improve the planning and management of local sports infrastructure.
