Valencia promotes design through festival and retrospective
Valencia is strengthening its international profile through major design initiatives. The Valencia Design Fest is scheduled to run from September 11 to October 15, serving as a hub for creative talent, innovation, and design.
To support this, the Visit Valencia Foundation has invested in updating the Valencia Design Map, a tool intended to showcase the city's creative studios, commercial spaces, and design projects to both residents and visitors. Paula Llobet, president of the foundation, emphasized that design is a key tool for the city's competitiveness and its image as an innovative Mediterranean hub.
In a related cultural event, a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the career of architect and designer Oscar Tusquets Blanca will be held from September 28 to October 8, 2026, alongside the Feria Hábitat. Organized by BD Barcelona and the Vicente Navarro showroom, the exhibition will span over five decades of work, featuring iconic pieces such as the 1972 Dalilips sofa—a collaboration with Salvador Dalí—and his recent Simplex chair.
