Valencia promotes ‘esmorzar valencià’ to European chefs

The Diputació de València is organizing a showcase of the ‘esmorzar valencià’ (Valencian breakfast) at the Centre Cultural La Beneficència on September 8. The event is part of the Euro-Toques Assembly, which will bring together over one hundred Spanish and European chefs and culinary professionals.

Eighteen municipalities will participate, presenting local specialties such as Alginet brine peppers, Godelleta mistela, Xeraco cremaet, Macastre rin-ran, Enguera oil, Torrent chocolate, and Carcaixent cuttlefish sandwiches. To ensure the event goes beyond a simple tasting, local producers, hospitality businesses, and agri-food companies will accompany the municipal delegations to explain the origins and cultural significance of their products directly to the visiting chefs.

Vicent Mompó, president of the Diputació de València, stated that the initiative aims to highlight the connection between local products, commerce, and the regional gastronomic identity.
