Valencia provincial funding boosts neighbourhood revitalisation and sewage upgrades in Catalan towns

The Generalitat has opened the second call for the Pla de Barris programme, offering municipal subsidies to improve deprived neighbourhoods. Municipalities such as L'Espluga de Francolís, Valls, Torredembarra, Constantí, Vila‑seca and others are preparing new projects that will target youth, housing, employment, education and municipal facilities. The call remains open until July.

Separately, the Diputación de Valencia’s Pla Obert has allocated more than €14 million to the Camp de Morvedre comarca. Canet d'en Berenguer will receive €260 000 to renew a faulty sewage collector along its seaside promenade. Additional funds are earmarked for projects in Benifairó de les Valls, Benavites, Gilet and other towns, covering solar acquisition, sports‑facility fencing, street paving and road resurfacing. The four‑year plan now covers 1 121 projects with a total investment of about €172 million across the Valencian region.
