Valencia region implements major infrastructure and road safety upgrades
Infrastructure projects are underway in the Valencia region to improve safety and structural integrity. In Valencia city, the City Council has completed extensive maintenance on the Assut de l'Or Bridge. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the iconic cable-stayed bridge underwent repairs to address corrosion, cracks, and structural issues identified during a 2025 inspection. The work, which included repainting the pylon and inspecting stays, was conducted at night to minimize daytime traffic disruption.
Separately, the Diputación de Valencia has announced a project exceeding 3 million euros to transform the CV-640 highway, a key access route to l'Olleria. The plan includes resurfacing, widening the roadway, expanding roundabouts, and adding pedestrian and cycle paths. These measures aim to address safety concerns caused by poor road conditions, visibility issues, and wildlife accidents along the route connecting Alfarrasí and l'Olleria.
