Valencia shuts Albufera park and CV‑500 road for August 12 solar eclipse
The Valencia municipal government will deploy around 200 staff to manage the total solar eclipse on 12 August. The plan includes closing the Albufera Natural Park and the Devesa forest for the whole day, and restricting traffic on the CV‑500 highway from 18:00, except for residents with proof of a second home and emergency services. An official observation point will be set up on Malva‑rosa beach, with additional medical and safety facilities nearby. The mayor, María José Catalá, said the measures aim to prevent overcrowding in the natural areas and to keep emergency routes clear for any incidents that may arise during the eclipse.
