Valencia infrastructure closures
Entities: María José Catalá · Albufera Natural Park · CV-560 · Diputación de Valencia · Valencia City Council
Overview
In late July 2026 the Valencia municipal authorities announced a series of temporary closures to manage public safety and infrastructure work. On 12 August, the city will close Albufera Natural Park, the Devesa forest and restrict traffic on the CV‑500 highway to prevent overcrowding during a total solar eclipse, while providing an official observation point on Malva‑rosa beach and additional medical and safety services.
Separately, the Diputación de Valencia confirmed that the bridge over the Sellent River on the CV‑560 road in Càrcer will be fully closed from 3 August to 25 September for a two‑month widening project. The works will expand the bridge deck, add two traffic lanes and wider sidewalks, and include structural repairs and drainage improvements, with traffic rerouted via the CV‑555 and CV‑590 roads.
