Valencian Education Department proposes 47 negotiation meetings

The Valencian Department of Education, Culture, and Universities has proposed a permanent dialogue calendar for the 2026-2027 academic cycle, consisting of 47 scheduled negotiation meetings. This plan aims to coordinate improvements across the regional education system by involving various administrative directorates.

Regional Education Secretary Daniel McEvoy noted that recent commitments, such as administrative simplification, infrastructure improvements, and the Educlima plan, are already being implemented. He also confirmed that the scheduled salary increases for teaching staff have been in effect since September. McEvoy has formally invited unions that previously opted out of the original economic pact—specifically STEPV, CCOO, and UGT—to join the agreement to consolidate a unified front for educational quality.

However, the proposed calendar has met with scrutiny regarding strike-related demands. While the schedule includes various topics such as institute section regulation, management team training, language competence, and vocational training, it does not include specific monographic negotiations on the core issues raised during recent teacher strikes.
