Valencian Government Allocates €318,000 to Fund Doctoral Research in Public Economics

The Conselleria d’Economia, Hisenda i Administració Pública of the Generalitat Valenciana has launched a funding call to support doctoral research in public economics. A total of €318,000 will be made available to finance up to three thesis projects carried out by a maximum of two universities in the Valencian university system. Grants are multi‑annual, lasting up to four years, and cover pre‑doctoral researcher salaries as well as research and dissemination costs.

Priority research lines include fiscal governance, economic growth and regional equity, digital transformation of tax systems, financing needs of sub‑national administrations, and evaluation of public policies. The programme aims to strengthen collaboration between the regional administration and academia, boost young research talent, and generate knowledge useful for policy design. Applications must be submitted electronically by 31 July.

The initiative reflects the regional government's effort to reinforce the scientific ecosystem of the Comunitat Valenciana and to translate academic findings into practical tools for public decision‑making.
