PP and Vox advance legislative initiatives in Spain
In the Valencian Parliament, the PP and Vox parties have successfully advanced several legislative initiatives. The Les Corts approved the urgent processing of a new Forestry Law, aimed at updating the 1993 legislation to better address modern climate and territorial challenges through public-private collaboration and increased local management. This move received support from Vox but was opposed by the PSPV and Compromís.
In a separate political development, the PP and Vox in the Spanish Cortes have moved to request that the central government repeal the current Education Law. Proponents of the measure argue for reforms to ensure academic rigor, reduce bureaucracy, and protect teaching freedom. Conversely, the PSOE has criticized this stance, suggesting that educational issues are often a result of management rather than the law itself.
Additionally, Vox presented an initiative in the Valencian Parliament to increase state security and defense resources in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. The proposal, aimed at addressing migration crises, was rejected by the PSPV-PSOE and Compromís.
