Valencian Government imposes maximum fire‑risk level, bans access to natural parks
Spain’s Generalitat Valenciana declared a level‑3 pre‑emergency, the highest fire‑risk status, for the entire Comunitat Valenciana from Monday 6 July through Thursday 9 July. The measure, adopted jointly by the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response and the regional Environment and Territory Secretariat, introduces mandatory prohibitions across forested areas: no open fires, a ban on walking, cycling or driving on forest tracks, suspension of construction and other work, and cancellation of all sporting or recreational events that involve fire.
Access is also barred in numerous natural parks, including Serra Calderona, Serra d’Espadà, Parc Natural del Túria, Serra de Mariola, Parc Natural del Montgó and others, except for vehicles performing management, maintenance, supply or surveillance tasks, or residents accessing homes or farms. Authorities urged citizens to avoid forest zones, stay hydrated, keep homes cool, and protect vulnerable groups during the heat wave.
