Valley Heights stabbing kills child, leaves three in critical condition
A stabbing attack in Valley Heights, located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, has resulted in the death of one child and left three others in critical condition. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, September 20, inside a vehicle on Waratah Road.
Emergency services were alerted around 12:45 pm. Bystanders who witnessed the scene provided initial first aid to the victims before paramedics arrived. The victims include two children, believed to be under the age of five, and a woman in her 40s. All three survivors were transported to Westmead Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, where they remain in critical condition.
New South Wales Police have identified the woman as the alleged suspect in a domestic-related homicide investigation. While homicide investigators remain at the scene, authorities stated they are not currently seeking any other individuals in connection with the attack. Police are appealing to the public for any dashcam or mobile phone footage that may assist the ongoing investigation.
