Valmarecchia allocates 42,500 euros for elderly social transport

The Unione dei Comuni della Valmarecchia has allocated 42,500 euros to fund an on-demand social transport service for elderly and vulnerable residents. This investment is supported by 15,000 euros from the regional fund for non-self-sufficiency.

The service aims to overcome geographic barriers in the Alta Valmarecchia region, which includes the municipalities of Casteldelci, Maiolo, Novafeltria, Pennabilli, San Leo, Sant’Agata Feltria, Talamello, and Montecopiolo. It is designed to assist residents in accessing medical visits, therapies, and socio-rehabilitative services provided by the Ausl Romagna.

Managed by the Novafeltria committee of the Italian Red Cross, the service provides personalized door-to-door accompaniment to help reduce the organizational and economic burdens on families in these dispersed mountain communities.
