Valmezu pediatric care faces crisis after doctor resignations

Pediatric care in Valmezu is facing uncertainty following the resignation of doctors providing emergency services. The resignations stem from disagreements with hospital management, changes in care conditions, and the closure of the pediatric inpatient ward, which has been out of operation since July.

Local officials are meeting with hospital leadership to discuss the future of the emergency services and the possibility of reopening the inpatient ward. There are concerns that personnel shortages could extend to neonatal and maternity departments, amid reports of potential service centralization toward Nový Jičín.
