Valter Lavitola accused of abuse by former partner Natalia Potenza

Natalia Potenza, the former partner of Valter Lavitola, has filed a complaint against him for abuse and mistreatment. The Rome Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations following her report, which was presented to anti-violence prosecutors.

Potenza was questioned for approximately ten hours by prosecutor Edoardo De Santis as part of the ongoing investigation into the attack on journalist Sigfrido Ranucci. Lavitola, who is currently in prison, has confessed to being the mastermind behind the explosive device detonated near Ranucci’s home in Pomezia on October 16, 2025.

During her testimony, Potenza provided investigators with extensive documentation, including fiscal records, detailing Lavitola’s business affairs and foreign accounts from the time their relationship began. While she provided information regarding his financial dealings and his connection to Ranucci, she stated she has no knowledge of the attack itself. Investigators are currently examining electronic devices and chat logs to clarify gaps in communication surrounding the incident.
