Valtra tractor sets lap record at Red Bull Ring

The Finnish agricultural machinery manufacturer Valtra set a lap record at the Red Bull Ring in Austria using its new T236 tractor. The sixth-generation T Series model, equipped with a 7.5-liter AGCO Power CORE75 six-cylinder diesel engine producing 245 hp and 1,183 Nm of torque, completed the approximately 4.35-kilometer circuit in 3 minutes and 36.4 seconds.

During the run, the tractor reached a top speed of 87 km/h, significantly exceeding the 56-57 km/h limit for standard road-legal versions of the series. Valtra stated that the speed was independently verified by Red Bull Racing. The demonstration was conducted in collaboration with Nokian Tyres.

Following the track test, the tractor was also used for performance testing on a farm in western Germany. Utilizing a Väderstad Tempo seeder, the machine achieved a measured corn sowing speed of 40.125 km/h. Orders for the new T Series opened on October 1, with the first deliveries expected by the end of 2026.
