Valtteri Bottas cycles 350km from Malaysia to Singapore
Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas is undertaking a 350-kilometer cycling journey from Sepang, Malaysia, to Singapore ahead of the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix. Eschewing the private jets typically used by his peers, the 37-year-old Cadillac driver is traveling via gravel roads and rural paths.
Accompanied by his partner, professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell, Bottas has been documenting the trek on social media. His route has taken him through diverse terrain, including palm oil plantations and dark, narrow roads, with reports noting encounters with local wildlife such as monkeys. Bottas has already completed significant portions of the trip, including a 161-kilometer leg through Malacca and Muar.
The endurance ride follows a disappointing performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was held at the Sepang circuit. Bottas must arrive in Singapore by Thursday to fulfill mandatory media obligations before the race weekend begins at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
