Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas completed a 419.67-kilometer cycling journey from Sepang, Malaysia, to Singapore ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

Accompanied by professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell and a support vehicle, the Cadillac driver opted for this unconventional route over commercial or private flights following his exit from the Malaysian race. The four-day trek involved navigating tropical heat, humidity, jungle terrain, and gravel roads using a gravel bike. To avoid peak temperatures, Bottas included night rides through the jungle.

During the expedition, Bottas encountered various wildlife, including monkeys, cobras, pythons, and large lizards, as well as cattle and dogs. He noted that the intense conditions served as physical preparation for the demanding Singapore night race.

Bottas described the trip as an ‘epic adventure’ that helped him clear his mind after the disappointment in Sepang. He arrived in Singapore in time for his mandatory media obligations at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, receiving a special certificate from the Ritz-Carlton upon arrival.
