Vampire narratives evolve in comics and classic literature

Vampire narratives continue to see diverse interpretations across literature and comic books. In the comic book medium, the new Midnight-X-Men series by Marvel Comics offers a dark reimagining of the X-Men universe. This series focuses on mutants and humans facing creatures of the night, specifically vampires and empyres, attempting to restore a sense of horror and powerlessness often lost in superhero power fantasies.

In classic literature, Bram Stoker’s Dracula remains a cornerstone of the genre. New editions, such as the Union Square & Co. Signature Clothbound collection, are being released to celebrate the enduring cultural impact of the story, which follows Jonathan Harker’s encounter with Count Dracula in Transylvania. Other Gothic works, such as Sheridan Le Fanu’s Carmilla, also continue to be highlighted within the vampire genre.
