Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry election results

The election for the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Van TSO) has concluded its professional committee and council membership phase. The Blue List, led by incumbent Necdet Takva, secured victories in 10 out of 19 professional groups. The White List won 7 groups, while the Green List won 2. The Red List, led by İzzet Çoban, did not win any groups.

Following these results, the next stage of the election process will take place on November 1, when the Board of Directors and the Board Chairman will be determined by the newly elected council members. Takva’s administration has outlined several key objectives for the upcoming term, including enhancing transportation and logistics, developing cross-border trade, increasing employment, and supporting local businesses. Specific projects mentioned include strengthening the railway connection at Lake Van and completing the Van-Şırnak highway.

In response to the election outcome, the Red List leadership met to evaluate their performance. İzzet Çoban stated that the results were below expectations and expressed concern that the support received during the campaign did not translate into votes. He emphasized that the group maintained ethical standards and intends to continue contributing to the city's development through their respective sectors.
