Van OSB President Memet Aslan Highlights Role of Organized Industrial Zones in Regional Growth

Memet Aslan, head of the Van Organized Industrial Zone (Van OSB), said that organized industrial zones are the "smiling face of cities" and are central to economic development, growth and employment. He detailed the zone's current scale – 525 hectares, five development phases, more than 10,000 jobs and around 180 factories – and noted ongoing infrastructure work on a 63‑hectare area that is expected to finish by the end of the year, after which about 40 industrial parcels will be allocated to new manufacturers. Aslan also announced a plan to designate 100 hectares as a Textile and Ready‑Made Garments zone, targeting the establishment of over 50 textile factories. He emphasized the region’s young demographic, the launch of education projects including an industrial campus, and the implementation of digitalisation and green‑transition initiatives within the zone.
