Turkey industrial zones expansion
Entities: Mustafa Özarslan · Van Organized Industrial Zone · Turkey · Sinop Organized Industrial Zone · Memet Aslan
Overview
In late July 2026, officials highlighted the growth of Turkey’s organized industrial zones. On July 25, Van OSB President Memet Aslan outlined the zone’s size, employment figures and a plan to carve out a 100‑hectare textile and ready‑made‑garments district, stressing digitalisation and green‑transition projects.
Four days later, Aslan again urged entrepreneurs to invest in Van, while Governor Mustafa Özarslan announced a 70‑hectare expansion of the Sinop OSB. The Sinop zone, already hosting 55 firms and about 3,800 workers, expected to add roughly 500 jobs by year‑end, alongside community facilities such as a kindergarten and a vocational‑training centre. Together, the two zones are portrayed as central to regional economic development, attracting domestic and foreign investment and curbing youth out‑migration.
