Van students visit historical sites through local education project

Under the ‘Tarihim Geleceğimdir Projesi’ (My History is My Future Project) led by the Van Provincial Directorate of National Education, students from Tev İfakat Yavuz Secondary School recently visited several historical and cultural sites in Van.

The excursion, coordinated by the directorate’s Research and Development (AR-GE) unit, included a visit to the Hüsrev Paşa Complex and the old city area located south of Van Castle. During this stop, students examined historical structures and observed ongoing restoration work to learn about the city’s architectural heritage and former settlement patterns.

The second part of the program took students to the Zeve Martyrdom in the Tuşba district. There, they received information regarding the region’s history and the tragic events that occurred during World War I, focusing on the importance of historical memory and the human losses experienced in the area.
