Student cultural and historical education projects in Turkey

Overview

Educational initiatives in Turkey have focused on connecting students with regional history and national values through field trips and community engagement.

In Van, students participated in the ‘Tarihim Geleceğimdir Projesi’ (My History is My Future Project). This program included visits to the Hüsrev Paşa Complex and the old city area near Van Castle to observe architectural heritage and restoration work. The excursion also included a visit to the Zeve Martyrdom in the Tuşba district to learn about historical memory and events from World War I.

In the Cappadocia region, students from Kahramanmaraş 100. Yıl Middle School visited various historical and natural sites, including the Kaymaklı Underground City and Uchisar Castle. Additionally, the EMŞAV Nevşehir Provincial Presidency implemented the ‘From Heroes to the Future’ project at Gazi Middle School. This initiative brought veterans together with students to share stories of sacrifice and national values, aiming to pass on the consciousness of martyrdom and veteranhood.
