Vancouver Rise FC clinches first season win, 2‑1 over Halifax Tides

On May 18, 2026, Vancouver Rise FC earned their first victory of the Northern Super League season by defeating the Halifax Tides 2‑1 at Wanderers Grounds in Halifax. Jessica De Filippo opened the scoring late in the first half, and a penalty converted by Quinn two minutes after Halifax equaliser secured the win. Halifax’s goal was scored by Jordyn Rhodes in the 57th minute.

Head coach Anja Heiner‑Møller called the result a “big relief,” noting the team’s hard work during a difficult start to the campaign. Vancouver held 51% possession and recorded six shots, three on target, while Halifax had 49% possession with eleven shots, three on target. Goalkeepers Jessica Wulf (Vancouver) and Rylee Foster (Halifax) made key saves.

The victory gives Rise FC momentum as they return home for their next match on Saturday at Swangard Stadium against AFC Toronto. The Northern Super League, Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league launched in 2025, also includes Calgary Wild FC, Montréal Roses, Ottawa Rapid FC and others.
