Vancouver soccer and basketball clubs knocked off in home defeats

Vancouver FC fell 2-0 to undefeated Cavalry FC at the Langley Events Centre, dropping to seventh of eight in the Canadian Premier League. The Eagles, who had recently beaten Pacific and Langley United, were without forward Paris Gee after an injury. Tobias Warschewski opened scoring for Cavalry in the 70th minute and Levi Laing added a late winner in stoppage time.

In basketball, the Vancouver Bandits surrendered a 42‑39 halftime lead and were beaten 91‑78 by the Edmonton Stingers at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Coach Kyle Julius criticised the team's defensive effort, and the Bandits' star Jalen House finished with 27 points. Edmonton secured its first win of the season while Vancouver suffered its first loss after a record‑offensive opening game.
