Vandalism reported in San Vittore Olona and Gussago
Two separate acts of vandalism have been reported in Italy. In San Vittore Olona, a drinking fountain in the Via Roma park was vandalized by unknown individuals. Mayor Marco Zerboni stated that because the perpetrators have not been identified, the repair costs will be covered by the municipality. The fountain is expected to remain out of service until Friday.
In the Ronco district of Gussago, a contemporary art installation by Lucio Perone was targeted just six days after its installation. The sculpture, which features giant colored pencils emerging from a structure resembling an open book, was damaged when the colored tips were stolen. Local community members have expressed strong condemnation of the act and are calling for citizen cooperation to help identify those responsible.
