Italian towns grapple with rising street assaults and vandalism

In Imola, merchants reported a third vandalism episode targeting a city‑center gallery, demanding more surveillance and lighting. On the coast of Torvajanica, vandals destroyed a lifeguard tower and stole the guard’s food and equipment, echoing a pattern of coastal vandalism. Meanwhile, a severe hailstorm in the Marche region damaged thousands of cars, roofs and agricultural assets, leading regional officials to criticize the modest public funds allocated for disaster relief.
