Bitcoin rebounds above $70,000 amid technical recovery signals

Bitcoin has experienced a significant price rally, reclaiming levels above $70,000 and breaking above its 200-day moving average for the first time since late 2025. This upward movement follows a period of intense market stress where the asset had fallen approximately 49% from its October 2025 peak.

Analysts at VanEck noted that Bitcoin triggered several capitulation indicators during its recent decline, suggesting the market may be entering an accumulation phase. While some indicators suggest a potential bottom between September and November, VanEck cautioned that historical data does not guarantee a rapid rebound.

Several macroeconomic and technical factors have supported the recent surge. The U.S. Treasury Department's decision to double bond buyback operations for longer-dated securities has improved liquidity and lowered yields, boosting risk appetite. Additionally, positive demand in both spot and perpetual futures markets, alongside a significant short squeeze that liquidated billions in crypto shorts, has accelerated the price recovery. Technical indicators such as the 50-day moving average and the short-term holder realized price have also been reclaimed, signaling a potential shift from bearish to bullish momentum.
