Vangelis Pavlidis attracts interest from Tottenham and Barcelona

Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis has attracted significant interest from major European clubs following a prolific start to the season, having scored 14 goals in his first 13 appearances across all competitions.

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly scouting the 27-year-old Greek international extensively, with sources indicating that a striker is a top priority for the club in the January transfer window. Other interested parties include Aston Villa, Fulham, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Juventus. However, Benfica is reluctant to sell mid-season and has protected the player with a €100m release clause, likely forcing negotiations to wait until next summer.

Previously, Pavlidis chose to remain in Lisbon despite a substantial offer from Fenerbahçe during the summer window. The Turkish club reportedly offered over €50 million for his transfer and a lucrative salary of approximately €8 million per season. In recognition of his loyalty and performance, Benfica has rewarded the striker with a significant salary increase, placing him among the club's highest earners.
