Transfer interest in Vangelis Pavlidis

Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis has drawn significant interest from major European clubs following a productive start to the season, scoring 14 goals in his first 13 appearances.

Reported interested parties include Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus, Aston Villa, and Fulham. While Tottenham is reportedly scouting the 27-year-old Greek international extensively, Benfica has implemented a €100 million release clause to protect the player.

Due to Benfica’s reluctance to sell mid-season, a transfer during the January window is considered unlikely, with potential negotiations likely shifting toward the summer of 2027. Pavlidis has recently received a salary increase at Benfica and is reportedly interested in moves to Champions League clubs that can guarantee a central role and consistent playing time.

His market value has been further bolstered by his leadership as captain of the Greek national team during recent Nations League matches against Germany, Serbia, and the Netherlands. Although Benfica has previously rejected offers exceeding €50 million, the club remains firm on its valuation, with a potential sale window potentially opening in the summer of 2027.
