Var department placed under drought vigilance by prefectural decree

On 30 June 2026 the prefect of Var issued decree DDTM/SEBIO/2026-134, officially placing the department under a drought‑vigilance status. The measure aims to alert authorities and residents to heightened water‑scarcity risks and to coordinate preventive actions across the region.
