Varese Municipality disputes unauthorized A8 motorway closure

The Municipality of Varese has formally contacted Anas regarding the unauthorized closure of the A8 motorway access point at Largo Flaiano. Local authorities stated that such closures, which significantly impact the city's traffic network, must be programmed, shared in advance, and authorized by the municipality.

The administration noted that while the necessity of the roadworks is not being questioned, the lack of coordination caused severe traffic congestion. The municipality emphasized that the closure deviated from agreements made during previous meetings at the Prefecture, which had intended to prevent such disruptions during the return to school and local business activities.
