Italy: Community donations support hospital departments across various regions

Various charitable initiatives and donations are supporting healthcare facilities across Italy. In Jesi, the Fondazione IOM Jesi e Vallesina ETS donated a ‘Bell of Hope’ to the Carlo Urbani Hospital oncology department, a symbolic gesture to mark the completion of treatment for patients.

In Varese, the ASST Sette Laghi Day Hospital received two donations: a medical instrument for measuring vital signs from a patient, and a bell from the association ‘Varese per l’Oncologia’ to celebrate patients finishing their therapeutic journeys. Similarly, in Demonte, the Festiona community raised 8,433 euros through a solidarity chestnut festival to support the oncology department at the Santa Croce Hospital in Cuneo.

Pediatric departments also received specialized support. The Bufalini Hospital in Cesena received a ‘Lightning McQueen’ themed stretcher, donated by several local organizations and banks, to reduce anxiety for children heading to surgery. In Pesaro, TEDxPesaro and Gradara Innova facilitated the donation of toys to the San Salvatore Hospital pediatric ward via the ABIO Pesaro association. Additionally, the Cardarelli Hospital in Campobasso received an electrocardiograph through a collaboration between the Associazione Giovani Diabetici Molisani and the Santa Rita elderly residence.
