Various regional economic and scientific forums scheduled for October 23

Two distinct professional gatherings are set to take place on October 23, focusing on scientific innovation in Peru and mining investment in Ecuador.

In Peru, the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM) will host the 2026 Research Week and the VI Annual Meeting of R&D&e. The event aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and the productive market, specifically targeting solutions for agriculture, food, water, and climate change. A key component, ‘Vincula UNALM – Connecting challenges with solutions,’ will feature matchmaking sessions between researchers and companies to address industrial and agricultural problems through technology.

In Ecuador, the ‘Ecuador País Minero 2026’ forum will convene in Guayaquil to discuss the country's extractive industry. The meeting will bring together experts from Peru, Chile, the United States, and Ecuador to address investment, sustainability, and legal security. The discussion follows a significant increase in mining exports, which reached USD 1,381.4 million between January and March 2026, representing a 65.3% increase compared to the previous year.
