Various regional festivals and events scheduled across Japan

Various regional events and festivals are scheduled across Japan for late 2026, ranging from dinosaur-themed activities to railway celebrations.

In Ehime, Emifull MASAKI will host the ‘Asoberu Fossil Dinosaur Land’ on September 12–13, featuring fossil excavation experiences and workshops. Fukui will hold its 20th ‘Car Free Day’ on September 19, showcasing autonomous buses and mobility activities.

Railway-focused events include a symposium and bus tour by IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway in November to commemorate its registered tangible cultural properties. Tsukuba Express will host its festival on November 3, featuring vehicle factory tours and train driving experiences. Additionally, the ‘Ueda Railway Festival’ is set for October 3, involving JR East, Shinano Railway, and Ueda Electric Railway with various train exhibitions and commemorative goods.
