Various traffic accidents and hit-and-runs reported across Germany
Various traffic incidents and hit-and-run cases have been reported across several German regions.
In the Rems-Murr-Kreis, an Audi driver sustained vehicle damage after hitting an open manhole cover in Schorndorf-Weiler. In Weissach im Tal, an unknown driver fled the scene after damaging a parked Toyota Yaris. Additionally, in Backnang, a 66-year-old driver who initially fled after running a red light and colliding with a Smart car later turned himself in to the police.
In Unna, police are searching for an e-scooter driver who fled the scene after a crash, leaving behind an injured 18-year-old passenger. Authorities are investigating whether the e-scooter had been illegally manipulated to exceed speed limits.
In Bielefeld, two separate accidents involving e-scooters and bicycles occurred within hours. One incident involved an 18-year-old e-scooter rider colliding with a 73-year-old cyclist after swerving to avoid a pigeon, while a second incident on Heeper Straße resulted in a 60-year-old cyclist falling after being startled by an overtaking e-scooter.
