Various wildlife encounters involving deer reported in Czech Republic and Canada
In Rokycany, Czech Republic, municipal police responded to reports of a fallow deer trapped in a garden. During the encounter, the animal charged at officers, forcing them to jump aside before it escaped into nearby woodland. Approximately 90 minutes later, the deer reappeared in town streets, prompting police to use a vehicle with flashing lights and sirens to escort the animal safely toward the Klabava River and back into the countryside.
In North Saanich, Canada, an RCMP officer and a local resident collaborated to rescue a buck stuck in a backyard swimming pool. Using a large strap, the pair guided the deer out of the water. The animal was able to stand and run into the woods without apparent injuries. Authorities noted the successful rescue as an example of community cooperation but advised residents to contact officials rather than attempting to assist distressed wildlife themselves.
