Utility disruptions affect multiple regions across the Balkans and Bulgaria
Multiple regions across the Balkans and Bulgaria are experiencing widespread utility disruptions due to scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and infrastructure issues.
In Montenegro, CEDIS has announced planned electricity outages across several municipalities, including Podgorica, Nikšić, and Herceg Novi. Similarly, various parts of Bulgaria, including Varna and Targovishte, face scheduled power cuts for network maintenance.
Water supply issues are also prevalent. In Serbia, residents in Gornji Milanovac face shortages due to a broken main pipeline, while Niš and Zaječar report localized outages for repairs. In Montenegro, planned works will affect numerous settlements. In Croatia, HEP Toplinarstvo is suspending hot water delivery in parts of Zagreb for network revitalization, and Vodovod Zadar faces legal scrutiny following a multi-day outage in Zadar County.
Additionally, in North Macedonia, the community of Galičnik is dealing with a contaminated drinking water reservoir and implementing nightly water restrictions due to drought. In Dubrovnik, residents are advised of upcoming power outages for maintenance.
