Vatican official misses key hearing in Orlandi disappearance case
Raoul Bonarelli, a former high-ranking official of the Vatican Gendarmerie, failed to appear for a scheduled hearing before a parliamentary commission investigating the disappearances of Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori. The hearing was set to take place at Palazzo San Macuto.
While parliamentary sources attributed the postponement to concurrent plenary sessions regarding electoral law, other reasons have been suggested. Bonarelli reportedly requested strict confidentiality guarantees, including assurances that he would not be photographed or filmed upon arrival or departure. Additionally, he cited difficulties reaching the Rome-based location due to flooding in the city center.
