Vauxhall unveils redesigned griffin logo
Vauxhall has unveiled its thirteenth evolution of the iconic griffin logo, marking a significant departure from its long-standing visual identity. The most notable change is the removal of the ‘V’ shaped flag, an element that has been part of the brand’s identity since the 1950s.
The new design is more geometric, angular, and simplified. According to Vauxhall’s Vice President of Design, Mark Adams, the redesign follows a ‘Bold and Pure’ philosophy. The streamlined shape is specifically engineered to improve visibility when the emblem is illuminated on the front of modern vehicles, particularly as the brand integrates the ‘Vizor’ grille design across its lineup.
This modernization aligns with the brand’s transition toward a new generation of electrified vehicles. The updated emblem will make its debut on the STX concept at the Paris Motor Show before appearing on production models starting in 2027. As a member of the Stellantis group, Vauxhall’s branding evolution mirrors similar minimalist trends seen within its sister brand, Opel.
