Vauxhall unveils redesigned Griffin logo for electric vehicle era
Vauxhall has unveiled a redesigned version of its iconic Griffin emblem, marking the 13th major iteration of the brand's logo since the 1920s. The new design features a more angular and simplified aesthetic, characterized by straightened lines and a closed beak on the Griffin figure.
A significant change in this update is the removal of the flag that the Griffin has carried alongside the letter ‘V’ since 1915. The new logo is intended to improve visibility when integrated into the brand’s illuminated ‘Vizor’ grille, a central design element introduced in 2021. According to Design Vice President Mark Adams, the simplification aligns with the brand’s focus on electrification and its new design philosophy.
The updated branding will be showcased alongside the Vauxhall STX Concept at the Paris Motor Show. While the logo will appear on upcoming models, it is expected to be a core component of a completely new production model slated for 2027. The redesign is part of a broader rollout of a new dealer identity and the brand campaign ‘Brit’s What We Do’.
