Nest Bank introduces new code-based login method
Nest Bank has introduced a new login method for its online banking services designed to eliminate the need for users to remember traditional usernames and passwords.
The process utilizes a dynamic 12-digit numerical code displayed on the computer screen, which remains valid for 60 seconds. To log in, customers use the Nest Bank mobile application to scan the code via their smartphone camera. Authentication is then completed through biometrics or a PIN within the app, supplemented by an avatar-based identity confirmation.
Michał Koszykowski, Director of the Electronic Banking and UX Office, stated that the bank is the first in Poland to achieve such deep integration between its mobile app and online banking. He noted that the bank developed a proprietary framework for scanning and processing codes, which is intended for future use in various other service and sales processes.
