Vazrazhdane party rejects Bulgaria's draft budget

The Vazrazhdane parliamentary group has announced it will not support the proposed draft budget for Bulgaria. MP Tsoncho Ganev criticized the financial framework, stating it fails to offer real measures to improve the economic situation or the living standards of Bulgarian citizens.

Ganev highlighted several key concerns, including a projected increase in state debt of nearly 13 billion euros for the coming year, with total debt expected to reach 47.1 billion euros by the end of 2027. He also criticized the planned 5% increase in public sector wages as insufficient to combat inflation and expressed concern over rising real estate tax assessments.

Additionally, Ganev criticized the government for presenting the draft budget at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) rather than within the National Assembly. He described this move as a disrespect to parliament that undermines legislative control and institutional protocol.
