Václav Havel's 90th anniversary commemorated by series of events

The Vize 97 Foundation is organizing a series of cultural, social, and charitable events to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Václav Havel, which falls on October 5. The program includes activities both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Key initiatives include a photographic exhibition on Prague's Kampa island, radio projects by Czech Radio featuring previously unreleased recordings, and theatrical performances inspired by Havel's essays. Additionally, the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize will be organized by the Vize 97 Foundation in collaboration with the Charter 77 Foundation, under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Dagmar Havlová, Chairwoman of the Vize 97 Foundation, noted that the anniversary serves as an opportunity to discuss the values Havel championed, such as freedom, responsibility, and respect for others.
