Vegetable and fruit price fluctuations reported in Honduras and Europe

In Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the Farmer and Artisan Fair has reported price increases for several essential vegetables. Cabbage, potatoes, red onions, and chili prices have risen, with cabbage increasing from 50 to 60 lempiras. These hikes are attributed to production losses during the dry season. Conversely, some items like Chinese potatoes and parsley have seen price reductions.

In the Dutch retail market, significant price shifts have been observed in various produce categories. Strawberry prices dropped by 15.8%, falling from an average of 3.79 € to 3.19 €, driven by discounts at retailers such as Albert Heijn and PLUS. Mango prices also decreased by 9.1% due to ongoing promotions. In contrast, blueberry prices rose by 7.1%, reaching an average of 4.20 € per 300 grams, primarily due to the conclusion of promotional periods.
